Application can’t be started when exporting results to computer. The Office 365 content search downloads a “UnifiedExportTool.application” file and launches a connection to Microsoft, only to fail when the application cannot be started.
This issue is due to a missing application (that they decided to not autoinstall for whatever reason. It happens no matter what browser you use, but since we all use Chrome or Firefox, there is an extension offered by Windows remix (but why??) to help launch the Unified Export Tool.
Add the extension “ClickOnce” to Chrome and it will download the ClickOnce installer. Install that and rerun the Export Results in the Office 365 eDiscovery page.
